The Mosaic Company welcomes Walter “Walt” F. Precourt III to Florida to assume the role of Senior Vice President- Phosphates, effective June 1, 2016. This transition comes as Gary “Bo” N. Davis announced his retirement after nearly ten years leading the company’s phosphates business and after 43 years in the industry.
In connection with his new role, Precourt recently relocated from Saskatchewan to Central Florida. Precourt, 52, joined Mosaic in 2009 as Vice President – Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), and was promoted to Senior Vice President – Potash Operations in 2012. He has played a critical role in cultivating the company’s high-performing safety culture and in increasing the effectiveness and competitiveness of Mosaic’s Potash business.
Precourt earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, his M.S. in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from Vanderbilt University, and his MBA from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
“Walt has provided remarkable leadership for EHS and Potash,” said Joc O’Rourke, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Mosaic Company. “With more than two decades of operational and functional leadership roles at The Dow Chemical Company and Holcim (U.S.), Walt is uniquely qualified to lead the next phase of our company’s phosphates journey.”
“For more than a decade, Florida’s phosphate industry has helped secure our food supply and been a key economic driver for the Tampa Bay, Central and Southwest Florida regions,” said Precourt. “It’s an honor for me to build upon that legacy and the leadership of Bo Davis. As we move into Mosaic’s next chapter, my top priority is continuing to build a strong, sustainable business while ensuring we remain a good neighbor and engaged partner.”
