Mosaic Supports Campaign Against Hunger

IMG_0207In DeSoto County, the rate for child food insecurity now exceeds the rate for the entire state of Florida by more than 4 percent. When school ends in a few short weeks, hunger will begin for as many as 5,005 children in DeSoto County.

To help combat food insecurity in our local community, Mosaic recently made a $5,000 grant to support All Faiths Food Bank’s 4th Annual Campaign Against Summer Hunger.

Now through May 15, 2017, monetary gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar, in support of this community-wide initiative aimed at helping feed local children and families who are at risk of hunger during the summer months.
